Andrew Collyer is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Fitch Group. Prior to assuming this position in April 2023,  Andrew was Chief Technology Officer of the Fitch Group, Inc. Mr. Collyer oversees information technology and data for Fitch Group's corporate offices and all of its business units, including Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions.

Prior to his appointment with Fitch, Mr. Collyer was Head of Technology at Morningstar Credit Ratings (DBRS Morningstar) where he was responsible for management, strategy and execution of Technology. He was a part of the Morningstar Technology Council, a member of the Morningstar’s cloud Center of Excellence and a mentor to participants of the Morningstar Development Program. Mr. Collyer also served as an Internal Director for the Morningstar Regulatory Governance Board which is responsible for governance and oversight of the ratings business, including the development, maintenance, and enforcement of policies and procedures and the models used to determining ratings.

Prior to assuming is role in Credit Ratings in 2018, Mr. Collyer was Head of Technology for Data Platform in Morningstar. He was an early implementor of an agile development model that stimulated efficient, high-quality results. He introduced cloud technologies to the Morningstar IT business, allowing for fast, innovative and scalable deployment, creating the first version of Morningstar’s Data Lake. He has 24+ years’ experience in the Financial and Commodities & Energy software domains throughout Europe and North America. He has also worked closely with many vendors and clients (commercial and technical) to create integrated solutions, plus lead the SOC1 certification for 9 years.

Starting in London, Mr. Collyer worked as a Data Analyst for Saladin, a software company which sold charting tools to traders that was later acquired by FAME Inc. He moved quickly into software development and IT and relocated to the US with FAME in 1999 working in the Energy and Financial software data management domains. He continued to hold a succession of lead and management roles in highly successful software development and IT teams after SunGard acquired FAME in 2004, the last being as Director of Software Development at SunGard Energy Systems. Mr. Collyer was responsible for managing the data and software development of two large business units with globally-dispersed staff. Mr. Collyer joined LIM in 2009 which was acquired by Morningstar in the same year.

Mr. Collyer holds a bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK).
