Brian Filanowski is the President of Fitch Solutions. Appointed in January 2019, Mr. Filanowski is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Fitch Solutions’ offerings. A 25-year veteran of the financial information services industry, Mr. Filanowski spent his career building the products, platforms and teams that enable clients to make strategic business and financial decisions.

Mr. Filanowski joined Fitch Solutions in 2014 as Managing Director, Head of Data, Product and Solutions. His signature achievement was the design and launch of Fitch Connect, a powerful integrated information platform that helps clients harness the power of research and data from across Fitch Group. Under his leadership, Fitch Connect has grown into a sophisticated credit and macroeconomic analysis tool providing a comprehensive view of credit ratings, credit research, fundamental data and economic insights.

Prior to joining Fitch, Mr. Filanowski held leadership and management roles at several other financial information services and data businesses, most recently at Bloomberg. There he was responsible establishing Bloomberg’s Data Management and KYC Business, and developing new commercial licensing strategies.

Previously, Mr. Filanowski worked at Thomson Reuters, where he led the Business Execution and Enterprise Content team responsible for integrating various Thompson content into DataScope, a platform he helped launch. He also spent three years on assignment in London creating local go-to-market strategies that significantly grew their EMEA pricing and reference data business.

Earlier in his career Mr. Filanowski held senior roles at Interactive Data Corporation (IDC), and Six Telekurs.

Mr. Filanowski holds a BA from Villanova University and an MBA from Fairfield University. A member of the Fitch Group Senior Executive team, he graduated from the Hearst Management Institute, and has attended the Apollo Leadership Program on Competitive Advantage at NASA and the Thomson Reuters Advanced Leadership Program. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Susanna, sons Mason and Granger, and dog Duncan.
